We all know that Puerto Rico is in a lot of need right now! After Hurricane Maria the people of Puerto Rico have been without water, food, electricity and so much more! Thankfully there have been so many great people coming together to try and help out, from Fat Joe, Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Jay-Z. Now I get it not everyone has a private jet to send over, not everyone has the power of Beyonce but we try and help out where we can! If you'd like to send in a donation a great organization is the Hispanic Federation. I sent in a donation so it's good!
Now today one of my favorite artists/creators is Lin-Manuel Miranda just did something AMAZING! You might know him from "In the Heights" and "Hamilton." He's a creative genius and he just dropped a song for Puerto Rico!
“I wrote this song the day after the hurricane hit Puerto Rico. And one, we realized this storm was the worst storm to hit the island in modern history, and its name was Maria. And that’s the name of my favorite song from West Side Story. So I thought, how can I flip that negative connotation into something [positive] for Puerto Rico?,”
And just when you thought it couldn't get any better the song features other artist of Puerto Rican descent. Jennifer Lopez, Camila Cabello, Fat Joe, Joell Ortiz, Gloria Estefan, Marc Anthony, and Luis Fonsi headline the lineup.
